Plans were recently finalized to convert the 3rd floor Pearson North Wing lounge into a treadmill meeting room. The new space will include six treadmill workstations arranged in a meeting configuration facing each other and supported by a newly installed AV set up. The room will be an option in the Meeting Room Manager system like any other meeting room. This is part of our DUSON Wellness initiative to provide opportunities for movement, while also supporting work/life balance. More details about the room and treadmills will be shared when it is ready for use. 

This Notice is to announce the NHLBI policy regarding the submission of applications that seek to conduct a clinical trial (see the NIH definition of a clinical trial) within the mission of NHLBI. The types of clinical trials addressed in this Notice fall into the following categories: 1) pilot studies, 2) mechanistic clinical trials, 3) phase I (early phase) clinical trials, and 4) phase II and beyond clinical trials.

Katherine Pereira was recently part of a National Task Force convened by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to write an updated Consensus Statement on Defining Scholarship in Nursing.  This statement provides a contemporary definition of scholarship that includes activities of research, teaching, practice and professional service and is now published on the AACN website.

Michael Zychowicz was nominated for and selected to continue participation on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) MACRA Episode-Based Cost Measures Clinical Subcommittee. The focus of this "Wave-2" group will be cost measure development for non-spinal musculoskeletal disease management.  The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, CMS, is part of the Department of Health and Human Services.

DNP and MSN alumna Rebecca McKenzie recently presented at two national conferences. McKenzie presented "Maximizing Surgical Block Utilization to Enhance OR Efficiency" at the and Expo 2018 in New Orleans, LA. She also presented "Resilience: A Skill That Can Be Learned" at the in San Antonio, TX. 

(NCSP), an interdisciplinary, community-partnered research program for physicians and nurses, recently added ɫ��ֱ�� University to its prestigious consortium. “ɫ��ֱ�� is the perfect site to join us at this time,” said Linda Sarna, PhD, RN, FAAN, national board chair for the NCSP and dean of the UCLA School of Nursing. “They already have a strong community focus, and their nursing and medical schools are ranked among the top in the country.”
