    Teresa Jenkins was recently awarded the Susan B. Clark Administrative Leadership Award and was honored at an awards luncheon at the Doris 色戒直播 Center. The luncheon celebrated both the excellence exemplified by Jenkins and her fellow nominees as well as the promise other 色戒直播 employees hold to develop into the kind of employee worthy of this award. This is the second year in a row that an individual from the DUSON community has won this award, last year Laverne Myers was the recipient.

    Congratulations to PhD student Heeyeon Son and her sponsor Sharron Docherty who have received an American Cancer Society (ACS) Award, for her proposal entitled "Family Communication in Pediatric Palliative Care in Korea." The project has been awarded $30,000 for a two-year period with a start date of July 1, 2018.

    鈥淏ridging Population Health at 色戒直播鈥 was the title of the inaugural Population Health Symposium spearheaded by Health Affairs Chancellor Eugene Washington. Keynote speaker Clay Johnston, dean of the new Dell School of Medicine at the University of Texas at Austin, kicked off the event. Paula Tanabe, discussing her Sickle Cell Disease research, was among a panel of speakers sharing approaches to 鈥淏ridging (Population Health) Management and Science.鈥 Donna Biederman served on the event planning group that began coordinating the event nearly a year prior.

    The Beta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society recently volunteered for a Habitat for Humanity build day. Students and nurses came together to continue work on a house they started in the fall. Special thanks to Anne Hickey, WHNP student, Midge Bowers, FNP and faculty, Terren Wortham, CRNA student, Gretchen Iroha, FNP 色戒直播 alum, and Kathy Trotter, BE president, who showed up ready to hammer and saw to build the second floor interior walls!
