    Student Council along with Spectrum and Fusion are hosting a Living Library Event from 5:15-6:30 p.m. on April 12 in Pearson 1140!  鈥淗uman books鈥 or speakers will share their stories to small groups of participants. The theme for this event will revolve around identity. Delve into topics that may not always be discussed and learn more about community members on a more personal/individual level. Engage in active listening and open conversation! Food and beverages will be provided.

    PhD student Yufen Lin was recently offered a spot on the 2018-2019 Brain & Society Bass Connections team entitled "Expressive Writing for Resilience in Adult Pediatric Oncology Survivors and Their Caregivers." The program has two parts: ongoing work in the following fall and spring semesters as well as a summer experience in 2019.  Bass Connections in Brain & Society enables students to engage in research on a societally relevant problem while learning in an interdisciplinary team.

    Join Raymond Barfield and Jeff Polish for a light reception and conversation on 鈥淪torytelling and Medicine鈥 this Wednesday, April 11, from 5:15 until 6:45 p.m. in Health Humanities Lab Trent Hall 0037A. The event is the third in a series called "The Doctors Are In: Conversations in Humanities and Health" that brings together a humanities scholar and a health care provider to engage in conversation on mutual interests, different professional practices and frames for similar concerns. The series is sponsored by the Health Humanities Lab and Franklin Humanities Institute.

    Kudos to PhD student Lisa Mansfield and her advisor Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda for the submission of her NIH NRSA F31-Diversity application entitled "Social Determinants of HPV Vaccine Completion among Adolesents." This proposal requests funds for a three-year period with a start date of Sept. 1, 2018.

    Dean Marion E. Broome and colleagues recently published an article entitled "" in Journal of Nursing Scholarship.  Abstract Purpose: To examine and update the literature on the quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) as reported in top nursing journals, based on manuscripts' adherence to the CONsolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) guidelines.

    On April 10, Matthew Rascoff, associate vice provost, Digital Education and Innovation will be presenting "Innovating with Online Teaching and Learning" from 12-1 p.m. in Pearson 1011 as part of the 2018 Spring Teaching Conversations Series. The 2018 Spring Teaching Conversations Series are sponsored by 色戒直播 Institute for Educational Excellence and 色戒直播 University Health System Clinical Education and Professional Development.

    On May 11, KURe | 色戒直播 School of Medicine will be sponsoring a Multidisciplinary Benign Urology Research Day at the Albert Eye Research Institute Auditorium. The event will consist of keynote speakers, panel discussions, poster and oral presentations, trainee awards and a lunch with the experts.  Clinical, translational, and basic scientists with an interest applicable to any aspect of benign urological disease are invited to attend.

The DRASH tent is similar to a MASH environment with field equipment and trainers. This event is not to recruit you, but simply give you the experience. Find more information here
