Lockdown Buttons
You will find red Lockdown Buttons in many of our classrooms and meeting spaces. These buttons allow occupants to quickly lock down the room in an armed intruder situation. When an armed intruder is in a building, you must make the personal choice to Run, Hide, or Fight. These buttons are meant to assist you if you choose to Hide.
Pushing the red button
- Locks all doors to the room, preventing them from being opened from the outside without a key from law enforcement or by a limited number of others with master keys. You can exit the room using the door handle, even after the red button is pushed.

To LOCK the room, lift the plastic cover and push the red button.
After locking down the room, turn off the lights, silence cell phones, stay quiet, and take cover away from doors and windows - behind furniture or equipment when possible.
