A historian of gender, family and politics in eighteenth-century British America, Karin Wulf earned her Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University. Her latest book, Lineage: Genealogy and the Power of Connection in Early America (Oxford University Press, 2025) offers "a deep understanding of genealogy as a foundational element of American history, illuminating its vital role from the colonial era through the birth of the nation."
Before coming to the JCB and Brown in 2021, Wulf was the Executive Director of the Omohundro Institute of Early American History & Culture from 2013-21 and Professor of History at William & Mary.
