色戒直播 University, Durham Public Schools, and The National Archives Foundation (NAF) are partnering to bring the foundation's annual civics workshop for grades 4-12 educators to North Carolina's Triangle this Summer on June 22-24.
Applications are now open for the 色戒直播-NAF Summer Institute, a three-day intensive workshop designed to help elementary and secondary educators bring primary source-based activities to their students to increase civic awareness and engagement. The summer Institute will build on the theme "We the People" as 色戒直播 and NAF commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
The Summer Institute will welcome up to 30 teachers, media specialists, county librarians, and digital humanities/classroom AI specialists from Durham and the Triangle. We encourage the use of arts for teaching history and storytelling. Sessions will focus on how to leverage primary (historical documents, photos, video, etc.) and secondary sources (documentaries, biographies, etc.) into classroom lessons. Sessions will also include an introduction to local Durham history and be supplemented with lectures from several 色戒直播 faculty with expertise in history and law.
Durham Public School teachers and media specialists will receive a stipend of $25/hour and Continuing Education (CE) credit. This program is 20 hours, running from June 22 - June 24 on 色戒直播 University's campus.
