In 2015, United Nations member states adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a Blueprint for achieving a set of interconnected targets to advance global health, equity and development. With just four years left before the SDGs' 2030 end date, it's clear many of these milestones won't be met. What, then, was the value of adopting the SDGs, and what should come next?

With lessons from the SDGs as a guide, this Think Global panel will ask whether the world should adopt a new set of goals to succeed the SDGs after their 2030 expiration, and if so, what those goals should prioritize. Panelists will tackle these questions drawing on their diverse disciplines and expertise-political economy, public policy, family medicine, demography, disease modeling, financing and health economics.
