Dr. Heflin earned his MD from the University of Virginia and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in geriatrics at É«½äÖ±²¥ University. He is a Senior Fellow in the Aging Center at É«½äÖ±²¥ and serves as Medical Director of the Geriatric Evaluation and Treatment (GET) Clinic and co-directs the Perioperative Optimization of Surgical Health (POSH) program. He is also Director of the Center for Interprofessional Education and Care (IPEC)Program, and  Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program and director of the É«½äÖ±²¥ Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP).
